Women's Health and Nutrition

January 1, 2021

As a woman, I have a vested interest in women’s health. As a qualified Nutritional Therapist, I am trained to understand how nutrients and other components in food can impact all aspects of human health and disease. I then apply this knowledge to the individual women I work with.

This involves skilled case taking to unpick triggers and drivers, detailed health history and medication reviews, observation, functional testing (where appropriate) and therapeutic interventions in the form of realistic and achievable nutrition and lifestyle plans. Personalised and bespoke for each woman’s unique needs. I offer inspiration, coaching and resources to help each woman on her way.

The food we eat has a profound impact on our health as women. The nutrients we consume are information used to make hormones, create energy, control inflammation, immunity, brain health, support detoxification, optimise gut function and ultimately maintain balance.

Nutritional Therapy works brilliantly and can support an array of female dysfunctions and health issues - endometriosis, PMS, menopause and peri-menopause, fertility and preconception, pregnancy, postpartum health, acne, polycystic ovaries, hormone imbalance, fatigue, thyroid disease, low mood, the list goes on.

I have recently completed a ‘Vaginal Microbiome Masterclass’ covering cutting edge science around vaginal health. I use the latest clinical nutrition research to help women who suffer with recurrent urinary tract infections, Bacterial Vaginosis (BV), candida, thrush and menopausal vaginal changes like dryness and atrophy. With the right guidance and expertise there is so much that you can do yourself to feel better.

I am privileged to work at the Family Practice alongside specialised women’s health osteopaths, pelvic health physio and massage therapists. The integrated approach we can offer women is powerful and the results remarkable.

If you are struggling with any female health concerns I am here, working online so do reach out.

With love
