Vitamin D

I just wanted to say Happy New Year and to remind everyone about keeping an eye on your Vitiamin D levels.

As we emerge from the business of December and all the Christmas festivities January serves as a welcome pause to reflect and re-focus. Vitamin D is a crucial nutrient for immunity, bone health, muscle and nerve function and cell growth. We have Vitamin D receptors on every cell in the body so adequate levels are super important. Our skin produces Vitamin D from sunlight and during the winter months are stores can deplete quite quickly.

As it is such a crucial nutrient I always recommend testing in winter to help inform what supplement dose you need.Medichecks offer a home finger prick test that is really easy to do and very affordable. You can use this link (or my code ANITABEARDSLEY) and you will receive a further 10% discount

We are aiming for levels to sit around 100nmol/L so if you get your results back and they are lower or higher than this do book in with me for a review. Both low and high Vitamin D levels can be problematic. It needs to sit at a 'sweet spot'.

In good health

Anita
